ISLAMABAD, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday directed the trade authorities to take urgent measures to enhance the competitiveness of the country's exports, the Prime Minister's office said here.

Charing a meeting with officials from the Board of Investment (BOI), Sharif called for taking steps to promote exports of non-traditional goods, and consulting with the private sector during the policy-making and its implementation to uplift the auto sector, the office said in a statement.

Sharif said that the BOI should develop a one-window operation mechanism and give confidence to all relevant ministries and provincial governments to facilitate local and foreign investors.

He said that his government is making its best efforts to achieve the objectives of trade policies and economic revitalization of the country.

Sharif added that business delegations from various countries are visiting Pakistan to explore investment opportunities, and the nation's stock market is also growing rapidly. This, he said, is a manifestation of the trust of both local and foreign investors in the government's trade policies.
